Understanding Campaign Types and Goals

When it comes to running advertising campaigns on Google, it is important to understand the different types of campaigns and their goals. Each campaign type serves a specific purpose and is tailored to achieve different outcomes. By grasping the fundamentals of campaign types and goals, you can make informed decisions to optimize your advertising efforts on Google.

Google offers various campaign types, including Search, Display, Video, Shopping, and App campaigns. Search campaigns aim to reach users actively searching for specific keywords, while Display campaigns target users browsing websites within the Google Display Network. Video campaigns promote video content on YouTube, Shopping campaigns focus on showcasing products, and App campaigns drive installs and interactions for mobile apps. Understanding the unique features and objectives of each campaign type will help you choose the most suitable option for your advertising goals.

If you are looking to drive new users to a newly created website you might need to select Website Traffic or Awareness and Consideration. If you are looking to drive more specific actions and you have set the Conversion tags (via GTM or GA4) then you can go with goals like Sales and Leads.

The same logic applies to the Ad Objective Selection inside of Plai. Make sure you are using the correct one as this can't be changed once the campaign is live.
